With clearance from drydock, the Eventide disconnected from the station and slowly made it's way out into space, before taking a sharp turn to Helios III at maximum warp. All hands, Yellow Alert.

After a while at warp, and with baited breath from some of the crew, the Eventide finally arrived at Helios III. If you were to look this planet up in a directory, you would find a lush green planet with mountains, lakes and sprawling forests and fields - a breadbasket farming world by trade, Helios III provided a lot of the non-replicated food in the Hromi cluster. That however, was not the sight that the crew of the Eventide was greeted with. The planet was a dull grey as the swirling storms provided 100% cloud cover, giving few (if any) clear evacuation windows. The planet was sparkling with lightning across the entire surface, and most eerily, there was no comms traffic from the world - in reality it was because of the storm, but there was finality of the silence.

With the necessary precautions taken, the Eventide began to slowly descend down towards the raging storm below it. At first it was calm, while the bridge's viewscreen and the ship's windows began to turn a dull grey as the ship immersed itself in the clouds - as if the Eventide had missed the storm entirely. But soon, the ship started to rock and creak as the torrential rain and wind started hitting the side. Through the walls the Eventide's crew could hear the lashes of lighting that hit the shields, attracted to the ship acting like a giant lightining rod. Engineering's adjustments to the deflector seemed to hold though, and before long the surface of Helios III's biggest city came into view. There was debris everywhere, being flung around by the wind into buildings and streets - some larger chunks colliding into the ground with dramatic cracks. Lightning was the only illumination, as the city's power had gone out a long time ago. The Eventide's sensors could see beyond the devastation (not to mention the rain-covered viewscreen, making it hard to see out anyway), and it detected many many lifesigns still out there, needing help. That said, it would be suicide to go out there without any protection at all.

The (relative) stillness of the storm was suddenly broken as the roar of the two other rescue ships echoed through the city. Not long after, the Monarch and the Thunderbird descended through the cloud layer, completely dwarfing the Eventide as they flanked it on either side. From the ground, the larger of the two ships took up a good chunk of the skyline as a swarm of small rescue craft and shuttles exited the sides. The lights illuminating the city as if the street lamps never went out.

@Event PingWith the USS Monarch and USS Thunderbird firmly taking over the situation, Eventide was free to return to 777 and transfer the injured they received to the station's own sickbay for more in-depth medical treatment. All crew involved were also allocated a few days leave as recompense for the danger they went through. Evacuations are fully underway, but relocating an entire planet takes time, and that storm is still raging on (watch this space).
